Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information Jina Thai Massage Spa collects, why, and what your rights are under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

1. Who we are

Jina Thai Massage Spa, 32 Standard Drive, Blairgowrie, Randburg 2194 (“we”, “us”) is the responsible party for the personal information described here. Contact our information officer at contactjinathaimassage@gmail.com or 079 282 9822.

2. What we collect

• When you contact or book with us — by WhatsApp, phone or email: your name, phone number, the messages you send, and booking details such as treatment, date and time.
• Health information you choose to share — for example pregnancy, injuries, allergies or medical conditions — so we can treat you safely. This is special personal information; we use it only for your treatment and with your consent.
• On this website — the booking form does not send anything to our servers. It builds a WhatsApp message on your own device, and nothing is sent until you press send in WhatsApp. If you accept cookies, Google Analytics and Google Ads record how you use the site (pages viewed, buttons tapped, approximate location and device type). Our web host keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for security.

3. Why we use it

To take and confirm bookings, answer your questions, treat you safely, keep basic records, understand how people find and use our website, and measure whether our advertising works. We do not sell your personal information, and we don’t send marketing messages unless you ask us to.

4. Who we share it with

• WhatsApp (Meta) — when you choose to message us on WhatsApp.
• Google — analytics, advertising measurement and the embedded map, only after you accept cookies (except the map, which Google loads when you view it).
• Our website host — to serve the website.
• Anyone we are required to share it with by law.

Some of these providers process information outside South Africa. Where they do, we rely on them being bound by data-protection laws or agreements that give protection comparable to POPIA, as section 72 requires.

5. Cookies

Analytics and advertising cookies are only set if you choose “Accept” on the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time: open cookie settings.

6. How long we keep it

Only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires. Booking messages and health notes are deleted when they are no longer needed, or sooner if you ask.

7. Your rights

You may ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, to see it, to correct it, or to delete it; you may object to its use, and withdraw consent at any time. Email contactjinathaimassage@gmail.com and we’ll respond within a reasonable time. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you may complain to the Information Regulator: inforegulator.org.za.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to keep your information safe, including keeping health notes to what we need and limiting who can see them.

9. Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
